Off to New Zealand

23

January

I’ll be in New Zealand for the Chinese New Year. Will be back on the 28th with promise of more, and more photos. Hopefully I could snap some NZ chicks. Until then, Happy Chinese New Year to you all!

Been a lazy Sunday afternoon for me, hot and dry, and I couldn’t even finish a complete blog post.

A Friday the 13th Coincidence

13

January

Do you have paraskavedekatriaphobia? or paraskevidekatriaphobia? or friggatriskaidekaphobia? Well, to me, Friday the 13th is just another day of the year, and it usually passes without any real signifiance to me. But this particular DVD movie we rented from Blockbuster changes that fact.
Friday the 13th: Part V. A New Beginning.
When we rented the movie, we didn’t realize that today would be the 13th, and we didn’t purposely rented it nor plan to watch this today. It just happened that our random picking of the movies landed us this. How bizzare.

Anyway, the movie is quite old – it was produced back in 1985, and the storyline is so predictable and the sound effects are boring. Well, I didn’t expect much from a film produced when I was a 1 year old toddler.

Real-Life Encouter of a Bull Dog

January

While I was taking Milo for a walk in a park in Carnegie, I saw lots of dogs from all breeds – the Retriever, poodles, Jack Russell, and there’s one of which I’ve never seen before in my real-life – OMG! a real bull dog!

New Year’s Eve Fireworks Around the World

02

January

New Year Eve's fireworks around the world. Courtesy of The Age.
I saw this picture in The Age on a rather cool new year’s morning. I find it quite interesting and decided to share it with you all.

I think the picture pretty much sums up the truth about war-torn nations like Iraq. Do they really drop bombs and fire bullets in Iraq during new year’s eve? Does children and teenagers there spray party strings and fake snows against each other? or are they throwing home-made gas bombs against the American troops?

In a way, the picture might serve a sense of humor, it’s sad to know the fact that such thing still happens in our world today.

Melbourne 2006: New Year’s Eve Fireworks

01

January

This is my first time celebrating a new year’s eve on Australian soil. I could miss any wild parties, clubs, and the rock show in Federation Square, but not the firework show – which is a must on every new year’s eve! This year’s fireworks show in Melbourne lasted for about 20 minutes, with a 15 minutes rehearsal earlier at 9pm.

There’s news saying that due to the high-temperature (freaking 42 degree celcius max!) and windy weather yesterday, the firework show might be called off, fearing that it’ll spark a bush fire somewhere. But hell no, the government has no right to spoil the people’s party tonight – after spending millions of the taxpayer’s money on sourcing those fireworks!

Here goes a 3 minute video clip that I’ve made from yesterday night’s event. Enjoy folks! and Alexallied.com wishes you a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

By the way, my video had just gone to the top of Today’s Featured Videos section on YouTube. Not too bad for my first home-made video clip huh?
