Modded Cars: Winners of the Show

Red Honda Civic
This is the winner of the “Best Modded Cars” category. A Civic with its engines, suspension parts, exhaust systems, etc, generously accessorized and modded. I don’t know whether you guys have other ideas, but I personally think that the car that I’m about to show you, has more credentials for that title.

The Pink Honda Civic
The pink Honda Civic with vertical doors, aluminum spike rims, V-Tec engine with huge air-intake alloy pipes.

Interiors and audio system
White and pink, not bad a combination. The audio system is good, but I’m gonna show you the best in the show later.

What's in the boot?
Those blue cans on the left looks like NOS-tanks, but actually they’re water bottles. They’ve got two tweeters hidden inside the boot of that little car replica.

What do you think? Still going for that red Civic?

Best Local Car and Best Audio System: The Red Proton Saga

Red Anaconda Proton Saga
This car I reckon, you guys will never see it elsewhere. A heavily modded Proton Saga, who would mod a Saga like that? Winner of the “Best Local Car” category says it all. Other Proton cars in the show are just no match for this red safari-themed Proton Saga.

The best audio system of the show
The winner of the “Best Audio System”, thanks to this powderful sets of Anaconda audio systems. It also has a PS 2 game console installed right here in its boot! So if you’re stuck in a traffic jam, you can pull the hand-brake, step out and open up the boot, and play Need For Speed like there’s no traffic at all. How cool is that?

Well, this post concludes the Modded Cars from the 2005 Miri Car Show series. I hope you’ve enjoyed all the pictures.

Modded Cars: Honda

Purple Honda Accord
A milky-purple Honda Accord.

V-Tec Inside
Honda Civic with V-Tec Inside.

Yellow Honda Civic
This is one of my favorite cars of the show. I liked the bright yellow color and the red flame emblem.

Automated boot with sub-woofers in it
Liked every part of its back. From the automated boot cover to its sub-woofers and the box that contained them.

Modded Cars: Protons

Modded Cars Series: Perodua Kancil and Kelisa | Proton | Honda | Winners of the Show

This is the second in a series of four Modded Cars post, featuring modded cars in the 2005 Miri Car Show.

Modded Cars: Protons

Satria GTi and Yellow Iswara
This is the only Satria GTi in the show. I reckon that the GTi’s looks good in their defaults with the metallic linings along its side panels. Extra mods to them make them look bad. The yellow modded-Iswara looks nice though with its macho bumpers and spoiler.

Mitsubishi Waja
Mitsubishi-wannabe Waja with look-trough window on its hood. Lightly modded engine parts.

Chameleon skinned Waja
Another chameleon skinned car. This one’s a metallic purplish Proton Waja.

Dalmation skin in the boot
Looks pale from the outside, bare white with sponsor’s emblem on the doors. But take a look in its butt! Amplifiers, sub-woofers, speakers and tweeters, all set under a dalmation-style fur coat.

Dragon Ball Perdana
A pink Proton Perdana with its hood air-brushed with characters from the Dragon Balls. Must be a Japanese anime fan the owner.

Purple Perdana and White Israwa
Chameleon skinned Perdana, this one has less dramatic colors than the Waja chameleon. The Iswara on the right looks empty from the outside, but look at the next picture.

They hit a zebra in the car!
They hid a zebra in their car!

Black Perdana
This black Proton Perdana/Wira (looks like a Perdana from the front, a Wira from the back. But certainly a Wira.) is one of the least zhng-ed car in the show. The noticeable changes being the change in the front and rear logo to Mitsubishi’s, and they also honey-combed their rear breaklights. Rarest form of mod I’ve ever seen.

Blue Wira
Blue Wira with noticeable mods to its hood and front bumper, and with all the auto-related emblems over its body. Car coatings by Kansai paint. I thought it was Kanasai when I first looked at the emblem.

Modded Cars: Perodua Kancil and Kelisa

Modded Cars Series: Perodua Kancil and Kelisa | Proton | Honda | Winners of the Show

I had the chance to witness the first ever car show in Miri City while I was there working for an automobile company earlier this year. The 2005 Miri Car Show was organized by some auto companies from Miri, and Brunei from over the border. It was held at a huge open car park space by the side of the Miri Indoor Stadium.

This event showcases some of the flashiest, macho-est modded cars, and also exposing some of the ugly-sides of car modding in Malaysia. Well, this is not like the western-style auto show where you can expect to see super branded race cars like Lamborghini’s, Ferrari’s, Skyline’s, Lancer’s, RX-7′s, all those from the Fast and the Furious movies type.

No, this is not it okay, this is just all the local-modded type, you know, those zhng-ed by Johny in the “Zhng My Car” show by Mr. Brown – those with shiny shiny plastic rims, titanium-colored plastic honeycombs, super-large spoilers and super-low skirtings, counterfeit Pioneer, Kenwood audio systems blasting tetno music all the way to Luak Esplanade (a Miri beach-side where modded cars will go to show off their powderful audio systems), just to name a few.

Anyway, the car show’s entries were basically categorized into three main groups of Perodua’s Kancil and Kelisa, Proton’s Wira, Iswara, Waja, Perdana and Satria, and Honda’s Civic, Integra and, Accord. Those are the most typical cars being modded in Miri and throughout Malaysia, simply because they’re more affordable by the local car-enthusiasts youngsters.

So, here goes the first in a series of four posts featuring Modded Cars in the 2005 Miri Car Show.

Modded Cars: Perodua Kancil and Kelisa

Perodua Kancil in Mini-Cooper style
Perodua Kelisa modded to be a Mini-Cooper look-alike. Still a long way to go on its colorings though. The Kancil on the right had nothing to show other than some low skirtings and shiny rims.

Bizarre art on Kancil
Some freaky bizarre arts on a white Kancil.

Blue Kancil with audio powered by Pegagus
A blue Kancil with its back stuffed with tweeters and big-ass woofers. Audio systems powered by Pegasus.

Chameleon Skinned Kancil
Not much zhng’s to these Kancils, but the one on the right has its chameleon (special effect paint coatings that changes colors on different angles) skin to show off. I’ll have more of those on other cars coming in my next post.

Sissy mods to Kancil
This Kancil here looks like it had been zhng-ed by XiaXue. Actually, all the cars in the show were like being zhng-ed by her cause they all looked somewhat, snowy…
