You’ve installed games after games, apps after apps, and what you get is mayhem on the desktop. How do you get rid of all those messy shortcuts without losing any of them. Now, Windows XP users may have experience using that handy “Quick Launch” toolbar. But what if you have too many shortcuts and it became unhandy to manage?

Worry not, let me show you a way to transform the way you navigate, even with your desktop busy with windows.

First, create a new folder on your desktop. Put all the relevant shortcuts into separate folders. You’ll need to categorize/sort your shortcuts to make them organized. As shown in the image below, I’ve put all the Microsoft Office shortcuts into a folder called “Microsoft Office”. Now, if you like it to be fancy, you can change its icon as well.

Next, right click and drag the folder with the shortcuts into your Quick Launch toolbar.

Please make sure that your folder is in the scroll list where you’ll need to click that arrow button to show rest of the shortcuts/folder so that it can perform like the Start Navigation does.

Finally, you have your own mini Start Navigation system!
