11:11

11

June

I’m not sure about you guys, but I’ve been seeing this pattern way too often lately, it’s more than just a coincidence. I’ve realized this about a year ago, and I’ve since searching for articles related to 11:11. And the studies explained that 11:11 is a sign or message sent by God/Angel/Spirits to acknowledge of you of their existence. I think I believed in it! Call me a psycho!!

Call 1111
Call 1111 from your mobile to check A/C number. Can I call 1111 and reach you?

11:11pm
I’ve seen 11:11am, and 11:11pm today. I did not purposely wait for 11:11am/pm to come, but rather, just coincidentally while I was checking my phone, or looked at the taskbar’s clock, it just happened to be, one one, one one. One!!!!!11111oneoneonesatusatu.

1111
And then there’s 4 ringgit change left on my desktop, and it forms 1, 1, 1, 1.

If that’s not often enough, I’ve saw a car with registration no. xxx 1111 this afternoon. Great. Spirits are calling me. So, what say you? Can buy TOTO or not? 1111 BIG RM100 for tomorrow?

On the other hand, I’m gonna complain TMnut for its stupid downtime during the nights.
DSL Down
This is my DSL status as of just now. It’s been really unstable of late, the DSL connection will be down around 10:30 or 11 for approx. 10-15 minutes, which is pretty frustrating when something important is going on. Would kill the modem for the Telco’s fault.

Everyone’s blogging about that Magic RM2.70

04

June

So I’m not gonna write anything. For all those that I’ve wanted to say are already being spit out by the bloggers across Malaysia. I’m just gonna wait and see the ripples and after effects of the hike. At the mean time,

Happy RM2.7/litre everyone!

Enjoy it while it lasts, cause you’ll never know when the next hike will come.

Wangsa Maju Section 2 Foodstalls Raided by DBKL

25

May

I’m particularly raged by this issue because Wangsa Maju Section 2 was my home for over 2 years when I was studying in TARC, and I frequent those stalls during that period of time. But on May 21st, 2008, DBKL brought a gang consisting of lorries, bulldozer and escalator over to Wangsa Maju Section 2. Their mission? To tear down the Chinese-owned stalls.

Bulldozers destroys the stalls
Stalls bulldozed.

Stall owners look on
Stall owners were helpless as they watch on the remains of their financial support for over 10 years. Knowing the stalls are of illegal extension, and operating without a license, they seek help from Wangsa Maju MP Wee Chu Keong, but he was also helpless because DBKL isn’t under his power. Even a plea for postponing the demolition was turned down.

Owners moving away furnitures
Owners frantically moving away their furnitures from being confiscated by the DBKL officials.

More stalls down
More stalls are taken down.

Road damaged by the machinery
Road damaged by the escalator’s stabilizer.

Stalls gate confiscated
Stall’s gate confiscated.

Oh well, the above pictures are not at all dramatic. It’s been happening throughout Malaysia, including Indian temples and Chinese temples being demolished, the most sickening scene is that, the Malay stalls nearby, is operating as usual as they watch the Chinese stalls opposite of them getting demolished. Nice view ain’t it?

Malay stalls are safe
Ini gerai ada lesen. Jadi, ianya boleh meneruskan bisnes dia. Apa majiam? Ini gerai boleh dapat lesen, itu orang Cina mia gerai tak boleh?

More Malay stalls
Few blocks down the road, under the Wangsa Maju LRT station, there are Malay hawkers selling kuih and fried chicken wings. And DBKL didn’t even touched a single hair of theirs.

This is not a post to raise racist issues, but stand in the victim’s shoes and you should know how they felt. I ain’t gonna say much here, discussions are welcomed.

Typhoon tailing over Miri City

16

May

It was Tuesday night and I was dining outside at Pujut 7. Just as I sat down and ordered food, the wind started to blew. Then rain follows. It splashed on the table and I had to move inside. After shifting, the wind blew the empty plates off the table and everyone in the restaurant were alarmed by this. The wind got stronger and it started to move things around. Chairs and tables, and then the shades. Workers rushed to close the roller shutter and shares were rolled up.

And these were the aftermath of the gust of wind.

Chaos on the road
Chaos on the road.

Fallen Debris on the road
Fallen debris on the Permyjaya roundabout. There was like about 8-10 trees fallen along the Pujut-Lutong highway. Traffic was totally halted then.

Traffic Halted
Fallen tree on the Tudan-Emart road. Traffic was totally halted for almost 30 seconds minutes because there was another tree blocking the other side of the road in front. And some stupid driver was stubborn and didn’t want to give way. So both side were stuck for half an hour or so until someone came down the car and negotiate a way out.

Typhoon was tailing over Miri. And that was just the tail of the typhoon, with its eyes concentrating in the Philippines’ northern islands. I wonder how it would be if the eyes were in Miri?
