Melbourne 2006: New Year’s Eve Fireworks

This is my first time celebrating a new year’s eve on Australian soil. I could miss any wild parties, clubs, and the rock show in Federation Square, but not the firework show - it is a must for every new year’s eve! This year’s fireworks show in Melbourne lasted for about 20 minutes, with a 15 minutes rehearsal earlier at 9pm.

There’s news saying that due to the high-temperature (freaking 42 degree celcius max!) and windy weather yesterday, the firework show might be called off, fearing that it’ll spark a bush fire somewhere. But hell no, the government has no right to spoil the people’s party tonight - after spending millions of the taxpayer’s money on sourcing those fireworks!

Here goes a 3 minute video clip that I’ve made from yesterday night’s event. Enjoy folks! and Alexallied.com wishes you a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Yvy: Lolz. Thanks and Happy New Year!

Wuching: Haha, I was in front of Crown, near Exhibition Center. Just along the Yarra River. We got tricked! The fireworks is on the other side, near Federation Square. But the view’s not too bad.

    Isamu: Thanks! Will do that.

  7. avatar Alex Says:

Tom,Dick&Harry: Yeah, there were two sides. I was only able to see one of them cause one building blocked the Docklands’ fireworks. :(
