to cina bodoh bangang@stupid chinese. You have just proven to them that we malay are all losers. You cant fight them with points, so you use rude words. I think what they say are right. This education system is not bringing us anywhere. I'm a malay and I think this country have many potential but never use it wisely. The car thing, was a total emberassment. I bet if the westerners find out about this they would have laugh about it. Not to blame them because if I were them I would have done the same thing too. Plus if we always wanted to pertahankan hak melayu its only going to make us down. Why? because this whole hak melayu thing is making the malays became more and more laid back and complacent more then ever. This is because they knew even if they were lazy they would still be able to further study. One more thing, you wanted so badly the chinese to leave right? well without them we will be like indonesian so in a way we owe them for the economic contribution. Lastly, I do agree that we Malaysian are really dsicriminative. U.S also have history of african-americans which is similar to us. But there were no special rights to the white. Everyone is treated equally there because the whites are not afraid of competition but we on the other hand are afraid because we knew we would never win thats why we created this stupid special rights which have never really bring us anywhere.

I'm neither agree nor say yes to your opinion because the things that are mention in your pots are true, they have evidence. But I rather say, what a good country Malaysia is! You can openly criticize the system in the net. so what do we do to correct these craps Malaysians? Just criticize? TOGETHER WE change this racist country to a better country, without forgetting history. History is very essential to if we want to know where are we come from and who we are.

Love the land, as it feed u..^^

For those of you who say that there is no other way besides an exam oriented system, IBTD. I studied in an American school here in kota damansara, so I know what it's like to not be in an exam orenited setting. Yes, americans have exams, but your final grade does not depend only on the exam. In fact, the exam only accounts for about 20% of your final grade. The other 80% comes from quizzes, unit tests, discussions, labs, and such. Therefore, students are constantly challenged with assignments that test their understanding of the subject. Understanding, not memorization, is the key. You have to actually critically think for 8 months to pass a subject. It is quite difficult, and the stress is there throughout the semester, but it prepares you for college very well. A non- exam oriented system is doable, you just need to want to do it.

About some previous posts saying you should be loyal to your country, you still have to right to speak up (to a certain extent before you get arrested.) We are not North Korea, having to kiss the Dear Leader's backside every day.

Well, I TOTALLY agree with you. I could not express how much I LOVE this article. Seriously. I'm the same. I used to be a good student right up till PMR. After PMR, my parents told me that they would send me to an international school or send me to Singapore for O-levels (aka quality education), but that never happened. So I was stuck in miserable Malaysia. And well one day i woke up and asked myself....'why are we learning nonsense and shit?' so I stopped studying, failing and flunking subjects. And my class had a damn bloody memorizing and vomiting 'legion' at that time. So yeah, I WAS a delinquent. And SPM wasn't important anyway! I wanted QUALITY education. So right before SPM I decided on the Pre-U I wanted. And I didn't give a shit about SPM at all. It's not important, they teach you crap and it doesn't bring you anywhere. Why study my lungs out for it when I can save it for the long run in my pre-u and degree? So I flunked it. I had 4A's out of 10 subjects.

I originally decided on the Canadian pre-U, but my parents asked me to do A-levels. (I am now in Sunway college), and I plan to pursue my studies in America after this. Right now, I'm really happy that I'm getting 'QUality education'. I can finally study properly, getting back in to the mood. And I am content with the syllabus. It promotes critical thinking, analytical skills and all.

And oh, I hate those assholes who scored straight A's in SPM and think they will always do well in life. I know of people who got 7A's and couldn't even withstand the first sem of A-levels. And lot's of people I know who got high A's for SPM,,,eg7,8,9A's are not doing so well at the PRe-U level. I know people who scored A in SPM for Physics but are flunking at the Pre-U level. But, I also do KNOW people who have scored 3 or 4A's in SPM and are doing well in A-levels. So that's about it. Whoever wishes to flame me come! I can take you as one of those memorizing legion assholes and u prolly got straight A's for SPm and think you're all that and wanna defend ur 'title'.
