Window Shopping on Household Furniture

There are lots of furniture outlets in Melbourne selling everything from top-quality, imported furnitures, down to the lower grades and used furnitures. The choices are very broad and if you’re looking to get something to fill up your house, flip that Yellow Pages and look them up. You won’t regret the extra effort put in. More choices means you can choose from styles and prices variant.

I looked up the Yellow Pages on the Internet and found three in my proximity. All of the furniture showrooms are based in Cheltenham, along the Nepean Highway. The first one I went is this well advertised “Fantastic Furniture”.

A look into the store. It’s neatly organized, but just a little bit crampy.

Another shot of the interior of Fantastic Furniture
Here’s another shot.

$250 for a Java table? Nah.
I’m not splashing my cash for that piece of wood there. And erm, let’s get the hell outta here, no flashy stuff here to pull my attention to.

Next stop, Just A Second Furniture Warehouse. Now, the name sounded a lil bit off the mark there. Not much relevant to furnitures, I thought.
Just a Second Furniture Warehouse
The warehouse exterior looks like a factory carried-over from the World War II years.

Interior of Just a Second. It's huge!
Step into the “factory” and you’ll find yourself acres of floor-space! But not much products to show off though. Most of the products were either samples or used, so the prices are lower. Many of them are defective, scratched, or looking worn. Won’t waste my money on those.

A section of it sells Ramler furnitures - medium grade.
A section of its space selling new furnitures, looks better than the rest.

Just A Second Reception
The reception. You have to go up to that counter if you need any help. Not enough man to follow you around the warehouse.

Some notices.
Choose Carefully. No return nor refund on Samples and Second-hands. The thing is, I found a group of back-rest chairs in there, none of them are in good-enough conditions to be sold. Imagine sitting on a chair and resting on a screw sticking out of the cushion pad at the back. You might even experience REAL pain in the ass with those chairs. Didn’t manage to get pictures of them though.

Won’t come back to that particular warehouse again. Next, it’s Bedshed. This company took off in Perth before coming to Melbourne, that’s what I’ve read about on the web. Now I’ve to see the real thing.
Bedshed. Very lavenderish.
Nice first impression. I love the color and its logo. Simple and elegant. They even planted lavender to compliment their color.

Interiors. Very elegantly done.
It’s interior and very elegantly set and organized.

Leather bed. Luxurious.
Leather bed. First time I’ve seen any of these, and Bedshed has plenty of them. Luxury piece of sheet there.

Let's go upstairs for more.
Let’s go upstairs for more beds.

Bed for kids.
Bed for the kids! Your kids will love this space if you bring’em here.

Nice setting for a queen bed.
Nice setting for a queen-size bed there. Seeing these soothes my eyes after bombardments of the defectives in Just A Sec.

lolz. We were just browsing to see the price variance here, and check on our options. But we won’t buy them until we get our own house.
