The Yan Yan Strawberry Cream Snack

The Yan Yan Strawberry Cream Snack

Strawberry cream on a Biscuit stick. Look familiar?

I remember I always carved for these snacks back in the days of white collar shirt and blue shorts, the days when teachers are able to use caning to control students. But then, I wasn’t that rich back then to enjoy these stuffs. I only get enough money for a light meal, and most of the times, I get nothing when my mom prepares food for me to bring to school. So chances to get my hands on those snacks are rare.

The Yan Yan Strawberry Cream Snack

Man, what a long way it has come, and it’s still that popular till this day. Little or no improvements, or should I say changes, are being made to the snack, after more than a decade. The strawberry cream are still the same pitifully just-enough for the biscuit sticks.

Now you see it,

Now you don’t! But, the cream isn’t enough for my biscuit snacks! Maaaaa, I want more!

The only changes are probably to its biscuit sticks, with imprinted short phrases and facts and cute animals. You can even play lil games using the snack with your friends or your family. Just randomly pick a stick from the pack and it’ll tell you what to do with its imprinted phrases. The packaging uses a smooth plastic-feel paper which makes it look elegant and that raises the value a lil bit more, but I think the material used haven’t changed since the days of my primary school’s.

It tells you that Giraffe is the Tallest Mammal, hmm, that’s really knowledgable. If you picked the rabbit, you’ll have to eat more carrots! Go swimming if you picked the fish, etc.

The use of cute animal imprints is a smart trick use to attract kids. And now with the pick-the-stick-and-do-what-it-ask game, it’s not only a snack but a game to kill the boredom! What a value in a packet which costs only $1.20!

  2. Woah!! This learning from your snack concept is the first I’ve seen. I wonder what the outcome is. (not through the derriere) Rational reasoning for eating junk?

  3. WongPK: Don’t put in the exchange rate as it’s not an appropriate method. If you’ve income in the particular country and spend it in that same country, xchange rate is forfeited. Hehe. I’ll write about me getting Imation CD-Rs for $0.27/piece. That’s cheap ain’t it. Even if you let in the conversion rate, it’s still RM0.75+ a piece!

Ambiguous Wanderer: Yeah, particularly this one. I bet the old one which has no imprints just ran out of gas.
