Kaya Toast in Miri

March
Breakfast and tea time outlets are popping up everywhere in West Malaysia and it’s just a matter of time this culture hits the shore of Sarawak.
Kaya & Toast is a local, brand new, breakfast concept shop originated from the capital Kuching. It now has stores spreading all across the vast state, including 2 in Miri, and another one in Bintulu.

This is the outlet in Miri’s CBD.

The menu on the wall.

The interior of the coffee shop, with very simple design and classic wooden furnitures. Look nice and serves its functions.

Friendly counter boy.

This is pretty much a self service shop, very much like McDonald’s and KFCs where you order and pay straight away, get your own utensils from the bar, and then wait for the food to come.
These are just some of the delicious food serve in this shop.

The nasi lemak with chicken drumstick.

Chicken curry.

Half boiled eggs, my favorite!
Sibu has yet to be included in their plan because simply, not many Siburian would want to spend RM10 on a couple of slices of roti and a cuppa coffee, when they can stuff themselves to death with kampua mee and kopi-o with the same amount of money. True?

Where is this shop in bintulu?
I’ve only heard from the Miri branch manager that they’re opening there soon. Not sure where is it. Should be somewhere near City Mall where there’s a lot of office.

Not exactly true
Why do you want to spend on something that you can get for half of the price + better quality?

This one looks interesting. I will try if they open one in Klang Valley. Yum!!!
Hmmm, competition might be stiff over here. But the population is big enough to cover that.
