London is the first stop of our honeymoon in Europe. In fact, we flew off to the Netherlands on the same day ‘coz we’ve planned to tour London during the final 2 days and then catch the return flight back home.

“Selamat Datang ke London Heathrow Airport.” It’s 6 in the morning and we’re totally jet-lagged!

Part of London Heathrow Airport
London Heathrow is one of the busiest airports in the world. From what I saw, there’s an average of 1 commercial aircraft landing per minute. That pretty much means back to back, non-stop flights coming in. If you’re good at maths and economics, you can calculate the number of tourists coming in and the amount of money they’re gonna spend here. Tourism is a huge business in this part of the world!

Monopoly houses
Prior to landing, I saw houses that looks very similar to those I saw on my Monopoly board game.

The Millennium Dome
and then there was the Millennium dome, which was still under construction. It is also known as the O2 Arena.

Soon as we touched down, we go through some stringent custom checkpoints.
Baggage claim
Claimed our baggages.

The Heathrow Central Subway
and went straight into the Underground and took the next train to central London.

Welcome to King's Cross Railway Station

The entrace to the Buckingham Palace
Entrance to the Buckingham Palace. We’re not allowed to enter the premise as the visiting time had passed. Oh well, maybe in 10 years time, we’ll come back again. Hopefully it’s open by then.

The London Underground

Going Underground
Another famous icon - The London Underground. This is the world’s oldest underground railway system. It’s been running since 1863 would you believe! and parts of the underground looks really, really worn.

Underground wirings
Err, is this India? No shit, that’s London Underground. Major renovation required.

The underground railway
I don’t think that’s art, is it? Again, major refurbishment work required.

Waterloo Station
Not to be confused with the Waterloo in Belgium. This is the Waterloo underground station in London.

Inside the train
Luckily the train isn’t as old as the underground itself.

The London Dungeon

The London Dungeon is a tourist attraction, based in Tooley Street, London, near London Bridge rail station. It recreates various gory and macabre historical events in a style which attempts to make them appealing to the younger generation. Using a mixture of live actors, special effects and rides, the Dungeon brings the horrible history of London back to life in a scary but funny way.

Enter at your own Peril
Enter at your own Peril. It means that when you enter the dungeon, your safety is not their responsibility and if you scream for help, even you mama can’t help you! It’s that scary!

The London Bridge

Cannon Street Railway Bridge
That’s Cannon Street Railway Bridge to the west of the London Bridge. No picture of the London bridge as I’m standing on it. :/ But, here’s the Wikipedia’s photo of the bridge.

Another London Bridge badge.

Tower Bridge

The Tower Bridge
Many people are mistaken this bridge as the London bridge. I was too when I was younger. But this is the Tower Bridge. The bridge can be raised up to allow ships to cross the river.

Again, this is an icon of London. Needless to mention, every picture I took in London is an icon. Geez.
