All, generally the food is OK in MIri but good English food is almost impossible to find. Miri Cafe is about the best and the toilets are usually clean. Most of the chinese food restuarants have dirty toilets with wet floors but it is what the people are used to and it is hard for the Malaysian authorities to enforce the strict hygene laws required. Smoking is another bad habit which Malaysians seem to tolerate even when they are eating their food. A long way to go before they meet European standards of hygene and food quality.

Halo Cafe requires no reservation. But you might want to reserve for seats at Pong’s cafe, especially during the night time when it’s usually full from 7-10.

Hi alex, nice blog.
I am eric and I am from Cbu. I tried to look up for Halo Cafe’s contact no and address that’s why I came across this blog. Do you know the contact no for Halo’s cafe and is reservation required for Halo’s cafe? I am planning to visit Miri with my car in the near future. Also Could you provide me the address for this Pong’s cafe?
d steak is very tempting and does look mouth watering. Love the portion size as I considered myself as a meat lover. hehe..=P

Where you from? Pong’s cafe is great, belongs to my friend’s family. Didn’t visit them for a long time since i stay in Sibu. Hai..
