If you’re a Wordpress 2.0 user and are having problems with comment counts, please read on, or else, please scroll down to the next post and read on
Well, I’ve just upgraded my Wordpress to version 2.0 last week and I’ve realized that my blog had stopped counting the number of comments submitted. Today, I’ve just found the problem, and a solution to that.
Alright, the main culprit of the problem is seemed to be the Spam Karma plugin. Now Spam Karma 2.0 has compatibility issues with Wordpress 2.0 and thus, the comments count problem. The author had released a beta version of SK 2.1 to fix the problem. The beta is available for download right here.
1. Deactivate your Spam Karma plugin
2. Delete your old SK2 plugin folder (wp-content/plugins/SK2/)
3. Extract and upload Spam Karma 2.1 beta to the plugin folder.
4. Activate the plugin.
5. Go to Manage > Spam Karma 2 > and go to Approved Comments
6. In Approved Comments, there will be a list of recent approved comments. Check all of them and click “Run Selected Entries” through “All Plugins”.

7. Go back to your website and see the numbers magically shows up again! Done!
I see quite a few blogs out there with their comments count messed up, hopefully this helps.

Hisyam: Well, there are some people, like me, who doesn’t like to change, and askiment is not perfect too.

for some reason akismet hates me. Akismet caught my comments as spam, at my own blog some more

GeminiGeek: Perhaps you didn’t login as admin to comment? otherwise you should report that to the developer for future bug fix
