Firefox downloads reached 100 million and countring

Awesome marketing strategy and joint-effort by the Firefox community has resulted in 100,000,000 downloads - and this is only their first year. Marketing and promotion was carried out by Spreadfirefox.com (Sfx) and their affiliates, and no doubt about that, it has been a success story. Very impressive just by looking at the numbers. They’re having this 100 million downloads celebration at Spreadfirefox.com and everyone’s invited upload their photos of the celebration. Here’s mine

On the other hand, some die-hard IE fans out there created this to ease their pain a little bit. Please confirm me that I’m not having double vision, guys.

My Internet browsing experience took a 180 degree turn when I switched from the stagnated Microsoft’s Internet Explorer to Mozilla’s Firefox in November 2004. Since then, my PC had experienced zero hostile takeovers by malicious spywares, and there’s no looking back. I’ve even changed my e-mail client from Outlook Express to Mozilla’s Thunderbird lately. Might even switch to Linux sooner or later.

Now that’s something to think about. Internet Explorer was leading the race last year on my blog, and Firefox started to catch up from early 2005 and continues to do so until recently, it took over Internet Explorer. I wonder if Bill Gates gonna have to start his own IE marketing campaign, ‘coz SpreadInternetExplore.com won’t work for sure.
